Week 9 - Important Reminders

hippo spring rockerGood morning all,

What a superb weekend, the sun was shining and everyone was out and about getting their vitamin D fix. We finally made it to the new nature playground in town and what a great addition it is to that area!

Please see this week's reminders for the final weeks of term:

CAMP
Camp has officially received the GREEN light to go ahead!

Last week an email was sent out from Admin to all parents that included an attachment to a permission slip and medical form. Both these forms are due back NOW (you can email it back to me). I would greatly appreciate you returning these as soon as possible. Thank you to those who have informed me of those who are not attending camp. If anyone else is not going to be here, can you please let me know as soon as possible.

CROSS COUNTRY
Next Wednesday 1st July, the Cross Country Carnival will be taking place from approximately 9.15-11am. Presentations will be held next term when we are eventually able to hold assemblies again. Students are to wear their sports uniform with their faction polos. They will require a spare change of clothes (including shoes and socks) in case the weather is inclement. Children may bring along coloured decorations and wear coloured zinc.

Parents are welcome to attend and watch. It is asked that you park in the top Naturaliste Road Car Park or the Sloan Drive Carpark, as the gravel carpark will be closed.

PYJAMAS DAY
This Friday 26th July is Pyjamas Day here at OLC, the students are encouraged to wear their pyjamas to school for a gold coin donation. All money raised will go towards our Caritas fundraising.

ASSESSMENTS
This week we have two final assessments this week:
1. Science Assessment (Natural Disasters and their Effects) - Monday 22nd June (today)
Clientmoji2. Maths Test - Part 2 (Decimals & Percentages) - Wednesday 24th June

GLUE
It has become quite evident in the class that 80% of people DO NOT have glue. This is becoming a problem as it is taking 10 minutes for people to glue in a sheet, as they are waiting to borrow some. Can you please check in with your child to see if they have all of the stationery required to function efficiently throughout the day!

HOMEWORK WEEK 9

I know the students are getting tired and homework is becoming a challenge at this stage, I ask that we try and keep our routines going right up until the end of term. Homework written in and completed, diaries and learning grids signed.

Home Learning Grid includes:

1. Reading 20 minutes each night - write title and amount read into the diary each night

2. Spelling Activities - Sound Waves Games (2 nights a week)

3. Project Work - STEM - The STEM advertisement is going to be presented next FRIDAY 26th June.

4. EXTRA (for those who do not finish in class): Blooms Ball templates and Biography frames are now homework, as we can't afford to spend any more class time on them.

Have a good week everyone.
