Term 2 Week 1 Learning Grid

Good morning everyone,

Please find below two important documents for week 1:

Suggested Timetable Term 2... Click here
This document is a suggested timetable to follow, as those at school will be following this timetable as well. This will allow me to do English and Math's lessons each day with both those at home and school (please see the 'Teams Meeting Timetable' in the next document).

Home Learning Grid Week 1 Term 2...Click here
This document outlines the learning activities for the week. Each day is on a new page with suggested timings for each lesson. Please show this to the children (it is also saved in their 'Learning Grids Term 2' folder on OneNote for them to see and follow).

On the last page of this document there is a 'Teams Meeting' schedule, which outlines when the students must (where they can) be on Teams to see the English (9am) or Math (11.30am) lesson being taught by me. There is also Guided reading sessions at 10am, where smalls groups are required to logon on their designated day.

The Guided Reading and Spelling groups are also on the back page of the Learning Grid document for you to see what group your child is in, hence the day they need to logon to teams for their guided reading session.

Within the daily instructions the students are told where to do their work (write in book or type into a particular page/folder in OneNote), as well as what work samples need a photo taken and uploaded onto OneNote in their 'COMPLETED WORK' folder.

I will be marking at the end of each day, therefore this work needs to be completed in the correct folders for me to see how the children are progressing. This will keep me informed with who is requiring additional help for the concepts we are covering.

I will be letting the students know on the first day back, that the start to this term is a very important time for them to develop good learning habits (especially those at home). I will be encouraging them to set up an organised workspace, read through the instructions consistently throughout the day, take pride in their work and stay on top of uploading to correct folders and gluing their work into the correct books.

Please see below links to the resources used this week if you want to print them out:
(NB: there are some activities I want the students to type into OneNote, therefore I have NOT included these resources, they are already on OneNote in their folders)

Week 1 Term 2 Reading Group Planner

Wednesday Writing Fact or Opinion (Zebras) Activity

Wednesday Tristan Banck's Reading Comprehension Activity

Wednesday Math's - Units of Measure Activity

Thursday Spelling - Homophones

Thursday Maths - Probability Scale

Thursday D&T - Secret Mother's Day Business

Friday Jessica Townsend's Reading Comprehension Activity

Friday's Spelling - Famous Homophone Activity

Friday Religion - We Reflect God's Goodness Activity

Each day I will be checking the Teams chat regularly, therefore if the students have any questions after the Team meetings, please encourage them to ask through this chat.

I am hoping that by doing short teaching sessions twice a day, the students can be a little more independent in their learning at home. Therefore hopefully you as a parent are only having to support where needed, instead of sitting one-on-one with them.

Please feel free to email me if you have any further queries or concerns throughout the week.

Looking forward to seeing the kids at 9am on Wednesday!

Many thanks,

Sandy Ricciardone
